Mission statement:
Affordable art for all as well as an affordable venue for artists to display their crafts. Part of the concept of The Myriad is the open opportunity for fellow artists to make some money while passing along a big part of themselves wrapped up in the form of creation. We really believe art to be a sacred manifestation, therefore each and every piece contains a life and gift all it’s own. The focus of The Myriad is to be able to pass these things along by making them as affordable as possible, thereby creating a way where most anyone can experience the purchase of real, one of a kind artwork. This sacrifice thein lies in the hands of the artist. We hope to be a place for these creators who want to sincerely pass along their work and message at a lower price than you'll find in most galleries.
We’ve all felt the barrier that surrounds art, being only able to admire but not have...which is why we’re so inspired to try to make art accessible. However, it is understood that certain things can only go so low considering the time and workmanship involved, in which case exceptions in prices are made. Typically at The Myriad, you won't find much over $50.
We are always in hopes for more new creative energy to add to our space...please feel come and feel welcome to showcase your work!!
We are also only taking art or handmade pieces in on COMMISSION- because the small space is so challenging, there just isn’t enough room to bring in random house wares, clothes, jewelry, etc. on commission. these things can be brought in on trade, in which case we would select. So please limit your ideas of participation as to what you could create on your own to bring in. If you made it - we’ll take it!
Rates
Because there is such limited space, and because the interest of new participants is continually growing, it is best to bring in a small assortment of your product at first. As soon as the demand grows, we surely can expand your space. Along with that, our commission rate is 20%, which means we take only 20% of your sale.
So stop in and bring your friends!!! We sincerely feel that to achieve the vision we have and to be truly successful, it will take the efforts of those who want to be involved as well as our own. Together, we hope to nurture a small idea into a myriad of opportunities in which we can all partake.
"The Artist's Circuit"
Now at The Myriad, we have our own club/trading game going called "The Artist's Circuit". Any artists, crafters, musicians, or creators may participate. You could also get creative with any type of bartering service you might come up with; ex.:bodywork, hairstylist, psychic reader etc.
The trading system between the participants is based on our own currency, Myriad Money.
Because we are using paper money, the trade gets passed around instead of being limited to just one on one trade.
